Genovieve Grouios

Education Consultant

Genovieve’s expertise and interests lie in mathematics education for grades F-10. She is experienced in conducting professional development sessions covering a range of mathematical concepts based on problem solving and helping students learn mathematics with understanding. Her role as a numeracy coach in schools is to support schools build and sustain professional learning communities, in which teachers learn to build their capacity and aspire to be lifelong learners and researchers in mathematics. Genovieve has written curriculum documents which include The Mathematics Curriculum Companion (grades 5/6) and NHITS documents and she is able to help teachers make sense of curriculum descriptors and the proficiencies to ensure that that the lessons planned and delivered are effective and cater to student and school needs. Genovieve also currently works as a sessional teacher in Mathematics at Australian Catholic University and previously Victoria University and has presented professional development for the Mathematics Association of Victoria and currently Australian Mathematics Central.
