Nicole is an experienced Educator who has worked in Primary Schools across Melbourne for the past 15 years. Her passion lies in empowering teachers and leaders to break down the negative attitudes surrounding Maths teaching and learning. She has held various positions within schools, including PLT Leader, Leading Teacher and Numeracy Whole School Leader. Additionally she has worked as a Critical Friend and Project Manager for a Not-for-profit Education Organisation. Her work now as an Education Consultant sees her guiding schools to implement research based approaches, focusing on improving learning outcomes for all students.
Nicole has a hands-on approach when working with teams or individuals and can develop and support the implementation of a cycle of professional learning that includes modelling and planning. She believes in the importance of exploration, productive struggle and providing learning opportunities which are sequences, connected and multi-sensory. She identifies the need to approach her work with schools in an innovative way, supporting teachers through both in-person coaching and the use of interactive online resources, webinars and courses. Her main focus is to ensure that as many students as possible can receive the positive Maths education that they deserve.
