Join us for our last night schoolED Event for 2023, where we hear from Jess Rowlings and Dr Matthew Harrison and their inspiring research into inclusive education and then toast the successes of 2023.
Presenters
Jess Rowlings is the CEO and co-founder of Next Level Collaboration, as well as a qualified speech and language pathologist. She also works as a researcher at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, and previously Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. Jess’ work is informed by her lived experience of receiving autism and ADHD diagnoses as an adult as well as her lifelong love of games. As a researcher, she is passionate about the use of digital games-based learning to promote inclusion and a sense of belonging, and her work has included developing and running a dedicated Minecraft server to support neurodivergent girls and women.
Dr. Matthew Harrison is currently coordinating Autism Intervention within the Master of Learning Intervention, and is the Director of Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) at the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education. His research primarily focuses on neurodiversity, inclusive education, and the effective use of digital technologies as teaching and learning tools. As a gamer, he has a particular interest in digital games-based learning and digital games-based social support programs.
