Eye-opening and inspiring in more ways than one!

I was fortunate enough to attend this tour in 2025 after contemplating it for a while, and I am so glad that chose to go. It is very well organised, with a lot of time to explore the city at your own pace on top of the organised tours. There was so much to learn about the place; Leslie, Lorraine, Paul and Lou were very helpful in suggesting places to visit as well as imparting very important information on how to get around the city. Bronxville was a great school to visit, and the visit to the PS 321 school was very well organised. I loved the teachers who accompanied us as well – there were plenty of opportunities to shares stories and trade laughter. There was absolutely something for everyone in this tour.

Of course, the biggest highlight of this tour was attending the Learning and the Brain Conference, which was unlike any other PD or conference I have attended. To this day I am still sharing the resources and notes with my colleagues who all seem also very interested in what I have learnt during this conference. Despite it being over a course of 3 days, it was over almost as quickly as it began, ending with a wonderful take on how schools should work, by John Almarode, a culmination of all that was presented to us previously, ending on a very high note full of opportunity for the future of my teaching in the classroom. The final farewell dinner in the beautiful Italian restaurant was in it hit me that the tour was over, with the final goodbyes to everyone.
I attended the tour baby-faced, uncertain, anxious and excited (as someone who had not travelled much) and I arrive back home and at work with a pep in my step, full of confidence and still very much excited; this time excited for the future, and the possibility of attending a future tour. Thank you so much Paul, Lou, Lorraine and Leslie for the opportunity, and the teachers who accompanied me on the tour.
I highly recommend attending this tour – it is a fantastic opportunity!
